The Story of Shaun le Sheep

Shaun le Sheep was painted by contemporary local artist Sara Pope for the 2023 Martlets Trail.  The trail suffered the usual petty vandalism and we were 'on call' for repairs and quick fixes. We received a call late one evening to say le sheep was missing, we eventually tracked it down the next morning but by the time we found it it's legs were long gone and it was in a very sorry state.

Shaun Le Sheep was considered to be a complete write off, but Ash realised it was just about fixable and with some new legs kindly donated by Wild in Art we started...

Sara & Emma completed the painting finishing it in the Japanese Kintsugi art form of highlighting the cracks with gold, celebrating the object's history and imperfections.
